Soong Ching Ling School, International Division offers an international education program using the American curriculum as the basis of learning. Other sources are interwoven into the curriculum from the British, Canadian and Australian sources.
In the Primary School, grades 1 through 5, classes include English, science, humanities, traditional Chinese language (writing, speaking, verse and poetry), math, art, PE, music, dance, IT and electives. Shanghai math is taught in Chinese for grades 1-4 and in grade 5 it is taught in both Chinese and English. Specialists teach the art, music, dance and PE programs. Students take elective classes each week.
In Middle School, grades 6 through 8, the curriculum also is American based. The Middle School students also have English, humanities, science, IT, math (in English) test taking, global issues, PE, visual and performing arts, French and Spanish. Students have Student Council, class meetings, community service, and an independent study program.
